Permanent hair removal
Permanent hair removal is an ideal technique for woman who do not like to wax or epilate, suffer from ingrown hairs, red sebaceous bumps, excessive hair or embarrassing hair growth on, for instance, the upper lip. This is a welcome solution for men who are coping with excessive hair growth on the body, for instance on the upper back, upper arms or buttocks. Every body part is eligible for this technique.
How does Deep Penetrating Light work?
Deep Penetrating Light has a strength of 1600 nanometer and in contrast to IPL (800 nanometer) it will permanently remove hair growth. The treatment head will be placed on the skin with a sapphire filter that is specifically suitable for your skin type and by means of flash light pulses it will be targeted to the hair follicles. During this flash the papilla (the nutritional canal of the follicle) will be closed indefinitely.
Because of of the integrated cooling in the treatment head this treatment is safe and painless. After the treatment you can continue your regular activities immediately. Every hair experiences a rest (telogen), growth (anogen) and sleep (catagen) phase. Only hairs in the growth phase can be eliminated. This requires multiple treatments and a waiting period. A part of the hairs will possibly be in the growth phase during a subsequent treatment and therefore able to be eliminated. The treatment duration depends of the body part that needs to be treated and varies from 10 minutes up until 1,5 hours.
The results of a IPL/DPL treatment
Research has proven that 8 tot 12 treatments are required using regular IPL devices to eliminate 80% of the hair growth, with clients treated with our DPL equipment 95% of the hair growth has disappeared indefinitely. After the treatment it appears as if the hairs keep on growing, this occurs because the flash light has destroyed the follicles, but not the hairs themselves. The treated hairs will remain loose in the hair shaft and will fall out after 2 to 3 weeks, when the epidermis will push them upwards. This is the reason why the results can not be observed immediately after the treatment.
Is hair removal suitable for all skin types?
With our advanced equipment we can treat virtually all skin types. You can however perform a test after the treatment, remove a hair with pliers, you will see there's no white bulb (follicle) at the end. This means the treatment has been successful.
